Issue of Driving School License

Transfer of permit means the conveyance of a permit from one party to another party.

Change of address in permit

Permit Endorsement means an amendment to the Permit as issued by the Minister after lodging of a Notice with the Secretary in accordance with section 41 of the 1991 Act.

Trade certificate is issued as well as renewed for a period of 12 months. As per Rule 44 of CMVR, the trade certificate can also be suspended or cancelled by Registering Authority.

If at any time the trade certificate is lost or destroyed, its holder shall report to the police station in the jurisdiction of which the loss or destruction has occurred and intimate the fact in writing to the registering authority by whom the certificate was issued and apply to the said authority for a duplicate certificate accompanied.

Motor vehicle in the possession of the dealer shall be exempted from the necessity of the registration subject to the condition that he obtains a trade certificate from the registering authority.No holder of a trade certificate shall deliver a motor vehicle to a purchaser without registration, whether temporary or permanent.A trade certificate granted or renewed under rule 35 shall be in force for a period of twelve months from the date of issue or renewal there of shall be effective throughout India.

A temporary registration number is assigned by the dealership from which the vehicle is purchased which serves the purpose when the vehicle is brand new and is yet to be permanently registered. This unique number is normally valid for a period of maximum one month, in which the vehicle should be registered by the concerned Regional Transport Office (RTO) authority.
